meet melanie, the founder of bela flor

Melanie's holistic journey expanded to include yoga, earning her certification as a yoga teacher through the Yardara Yoga Institute. This multifaceted training, coupled with the profound experience of becoming a mother, converged to shape Melanie's current path as an herbal formulator, hands-on healer, and wellness practitioner.

In the wake of her studies, Melanie honed her craft as both a private chef and a massage therapist. These complementary roles allowed her to integrate her extensive knowledge into practical nutritional consultations and hands-on bodywork. Eventually, Melanie was called to start an herbal skincare line, which led her to found Bela Flor Apothecary in 2012. Today, she utilizes her years of study to nourish her community by crafting herbal remedies and sharing her gifts from her serene haven at the Nectar Barn, the healing center where Bela Flor Apothecary resides.

Melanie embarked on her journey as a healer in 2005, igniting her passion for holistic wellness. Her transformative education began at the Heartwood Institute in Garberville, California, where she received guidance from Paul Pitchford in the arts of Zen Shiatsu Therapy and Healing with Whole Foods. Melanie's thirst for knowledge led her to further exploration, culminating in her attunement to the profound energies of Reiki and the practice of intuitive Abhyanga, an Ayurvedic oil massage technique.

With an enduring fascination for herbs and the therapeutic potential of food, Melanie dedicated herself to the study of herbalism. Her pursuit culminated in an enriching herbal apprenticeship program led by Kathi Keville, who also imparted wisdom in aromatherapy.
